| In Russia the custom to meet New year at
night since December, 31st for January,
1st has entered by Peter the Great , and
he commanded that the fur-tree became
the main New Year's tree. But really
custom to dress up a fur-tree before
Christmas has come to Russia at Nikolay
the First times. His spouse, empress
Alexander Fedorovna, has carried custom
to Russia to decorate dwelling by
fyr-tree with burning candles. For
decoration of fur-trees began to make
various toys. Development of branch of
christmas-tree decorations has
interrupted after revolution of 1917,
when new governance noticed in a New
Year tree a vestige of a bourgeois
society, ideological threat of the
Soviet authority. Manufacture of New
Year's decorations has stopped also.
Till 1935 celebrating of Christmas and
New year was under an interdiction. But,
since 1935 the conveyor on manufacture
of Russian national New Year's utensils
has worked very actively. Toys
1930-1970-õ years are various and
frequently are reflection of political
changes in the country. New Year always
was and remains the most liked holiday
in Russia. Today in fashion is Vintage
decor of a fur-tree and returning of a
fashion to the Soviet attributes. |
